Oxford Styling

Yesterday, I found this great post by the one and only the Sartorialist. Instantly I fell in love with the model's look and I was on the hunt for her red and white "candy dipped" shoes. They are known as Oxford or Brogue and originated from Scotland and Ireland. So, I am on the hunt for some leather Oxfords, hopefully two-toned with patent leather. Here is a selection I had fun with on Polyvore.

Wish List: Twenty-first century riding "habit"

I love equestrian inspired fashion because it is both romantic and masculine at the same time. It is romantic, because it reminds me of English country, green pastures, castles, and beautiful Arabian horses. At the same time, the masculine style of the jacket and the boots would give me confidence that I would usually not have when wearing flowery summer dress. I realize that there isn't so much glamor in equestrian life, but who says we cannot bring some equestrian style in our glamorous life.  Here is a collage of some of my wish list items as most of them are out of my $$$ range. My reality collage coming soon.

Wish List: Aviator Chic

Military trend has been in the works for the last couple of years. I am finally putting together an outfit  to reflect my interpretation of it (coming next post). I have gathered most of the items from this wish list, excluding the aviator jacket. Due to its price ($400-$1,000), an authentic leather aviator jacket will probably remain on the wish list. Aviator jackets are a later development of the military style, and they look great with both a cargo/leather pant or a dress.
