Start of Summer

Today is a Memorial Day in the US, the day of remembering the men and women who have died while serving and protecting the United States. The three-day weekend celebrated the last Monday in May denotes the informal beginning of summer. So in a summer fashion, I spent a good portion of my weekend at the pool in the great company of friends, fruity drinks and delicious barbecue food.

It Must Be Difficult

It must be difficult for Vogue Germany to select one cover! Alessandra Ambrosio, Anja Rubik, Karolina Kurkova posed with their better halves for the June cover of the magazine. Which would you pick? Jamie Mazur and Alessandra Ambrosio are my favorites. I have also added my version of the cover - all natural and untouched :)

Journey

I often wonder about the destination of my blog. Why am I doing it, where I am going with it? All I know right now is that I enjoy doing it and that is all I need to get motivation. Wrap It Up

I am so thankful to Diane von Fürstenberg for bringing the wrap dress to light back in the day. I prefer it when the skirt is more fitted, just like on the pics of my friend Nadia. I hope you like them!
I am looking forward to the weekend, as I have planned some shopping and laying out by the pool (not my own pool, mind you).

It Can't Get Better Than This

I know we all have them (inspirational posts) - but we can't do without them either. For me, this editorial is brilliant on several levels: photography, editing, modeling, ambiance and setting, styling... The editorial of Arlenis Sosa for the May 2011 issue of the Spanish magazine Yo Dona ("The Lady"-I think) was styled by Amparo Utrilla and shot by Miguel Reveriego. What I like the most is how this beautiful Dominican born model dons a different look on every photo - sexy, classy, playful, peaceful, sophisticated...

A great end of the week

I am finally realizing that weekends should be "me" time (not work time). I had a great time with my hubby at Callaway Gardens. On Saturday, I got my weekly inspiration and motivation from the Toastmasters conference at the Gardens. If you have never heard of Toastmasters, you should check it out - one of the best decisions in my life.
