MY FIRST GIVEAWAY

Hello there,

I thought you might be upset that it is the end of the weekend so I decided to do a little giveaway to bring the spirits up. This giveaway celebrates my 100th post. It might seem like a small achievement to some but the experiences along the way are a great achievement and make it all worth it. Here is why I love blogging:

1) It gives me a way to spend more time with my hubby who takes my pictures while doing something different than watching TV

2) It has brought my style forward and out of the shell. It (my style) was really sheltered in an attempt to meet social acceptance

3) Taught me how to buy more with less

4) Led me to meet and communicate with some magnificent and engaging people

5) It is always a good topic to talk about with strangers when awkward silence is present

And of course there is a lot more and the support of my readers is the live juice of this blog. So here is one big:

THANK YOU!

Without further ado, here are the RULES of the giveaway:

1) Follow Teodora's Lookbook through GFC. If you don't have a GFC account, you can follow through Bloglovin.
2) Leave a comment below mentioning your favorite item (they all go to the winner) and your email!
3) Open to current followers by leaving a comment
4) Open to US and international readers

The winner will be announced on February 14th. Good Luck!

PENCIL HEEL

Hello lovely ladies,

I am so happy that pencil stilettos have returned. I love clothes, shoes and accessories that flatter woman's femininity and shape and I believe that pencil heels do that more than any other type of shoe. I am so happy that ALDO came with their version, called Westberry, in black and red suede. They are 5.25 inches high but without the platform they are about 4 inches. Although they are the most expensive pair of shoes I own, they are still affordable compared to Calvin Klein, Christian Louboutin, and Giuseppe Zanotti.  I can't wait to share the rest of the outfit with you. Till next time, style it up

xoxo,

Teodora

Playing the blues (again)

Hello my dear ladies and one gent,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I spent it with my hubby, of course, and we spent some time picking out my first GIVEAWAY which will be celebrating the 100th post. It is going to be a fashionista feast so keep your laptops open:)

I spent a good time figuring out how to style this blue sheath dress because 1) I had no idea what goes with this color and 2) there were no great ideas online either. I tried to figure out what exact shade of blue it is and I believe it is called Cobalt blue. If you have a more fashionable name, please share. I don't think it is a trend color for 2012 but I don't really follow color trends. If the color makes me happy, I wear it. The only reason I follow color trends is to discover new colors as it seems they come up with new lovely colors every season.

So in terms of styling, I decided to use another bright color to balance out the overflow of blue. In addition, I thought the dress is too office-like, so I decided to add this hip jacket to make it more casual.
I am curious to know how you would pair this beautiful cobalt blue dress. Till next time, style it up.

xoxo,

Teodora

Tall knee-high boots with knee-high socks - Style #2

Hello lovely ladies! I hope your week is going great so far.

The second pairing option I picked out for the knee-high boots and socks is with this winter white silk/angora sweater dress. It feels divinely soft.  I have had it for a couple of years and I think it will remain part of my staples wardrobe as something that would not go out of fashion. The Baltazar belt is one of my greatest consignment finds. His website is not great but if you google Baltazar belts, you can see images. His work with leather is amazing!

Grey leopard print - Style #1

Hello my lovely ladies. I wish you an amazing week ahead of you!

I love the material, design and detail of this little shirt from Express. What I have been doing more  is layering pieces made of silk and thinner materials. This way I can wear articles from the summer into the winter season.  In this case I am wearing black silk dress shirt from BEBE underneath the leopard print top. I prefer to keep it single or in other words - one animal print per outfit. I have also paired the top with a skirt in the same color family of grays and blues. Although the skirt is not a solid print, the print is so small that the human eyes accepts it as a solid.

Nothing new here. As the quote says it best: "Fashion is more usually a gentle progression of revisited ideas!"

Tall knee-high boots with knee-high socks - Style #1

I have again ran into one of these modes where I feel like I don't have anything to wear. That is why I have decided to learn to mix and match as much as possible which will allow me to enjoy my outfits without breaking the bank. In other words, you will be seeing more of those numbered posts. If there are more Styles numbered 3 than styles numbered 1 over time, that means I am on the right track. If not, that means I am back to my old ways of wearing one outfit over and over again.

I like the colors of my socks and boots to be present in my outfit so I picked brown corduroy jacket and brown/cream checkered(very small) pleaded dress. At the same time, it was getting to be too matchy-matchy so I spiced it up with red leather gloves and a red animal print clutch. I hope you like it!

Atlanta Fashion Bloggers

This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting five wonderful ladies with the Atlanta Meetup group "Atlanta Fashion Bloggers". We had wonderful time over lunch sharing experiences about blogging, shopping and entrepreneurship. Here is why I believe these ladies will be in my circle for a while:

1) They are all confident, driven and willing to take risks to be successful
2) They embrace challenges and enjoy learning new things
3) They love to travel and use every opportunity to do so
4) And last but not the least, they appreciate fashion, beauty and shopping deals

I look forward to our next meetup.

Crabby

Hello there,

I am not sure if you believe in horoscopes or not. I have never read a horoscope that predicts anything bad but I have read quite a few that don't predict anything good either. So this time of the year and around my birthday I skim through Cancer horoscopes in search of something positive and inspirational. Luckily for Crabs, it seems like it is going to be a good year (yaaay) but I truly enjoyed one specific prediction. And the reason is that it coincides with something that has been on my mind for a while and something I have really tried to work on. I am sure they say it for all the signs :) but they say it very well:

"You are called upon to rid yourself of guilt about under-performing, and to develop faith and trust in a larger more spiritual plan. It's time to let go of some of your fears that you are not doing enough, to develop more compassion and understanding of others, and to be humble, feeling safe in the knowledge that you (and others) are not perfect. It's time to let go of some of your obsessions with rules, details, and fears of not doing things perfectly."

I am really hard on myself when things don't work out perfectly and it just leads to more problems and lower self-confidence. I hope this year I can let my soul fly free and enjoy life to the fullest!

Another Chance to Make It Right

Don't you feel like you just had your birthday all over again?

We get a second chance within twelve months to get on track with our resolutions which seem to be the same year after year for me. I don't have to be successful with all 20 of them, maybe 3 or 4. Or maybe one. And it is:

FINISH WHAT I START

Yes, I know, not very specific, but I can start with small things such as going to bed at 10pm. If I finish what I start, I will naturally have the remaining 19 resolutions covered: work out 4 days/week, diets, weekly dates with the hubby, meditation, reading more, toastmastering, dancing and having fun, going to bed early, spending time with friends, be less sensitive, etc. etc. Imagine the side effects of getting things done such as confidence and faith. I have a clear picture in my head of what I want to be, so clear I can almost touch it. Most importantly, I have my hubby onboard so I have the support I need. This year I will be a member of winners' club. Do you care to join me?
